L. Corman 'Cork" Day, Jr., age 79 of Gardners, died Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at his home. He was born Saturday, March 24, 1934 in Gardners, the son of the late Luther Corman and Dorothy E. (Beam) Day, Sr. Corman graduated from Biglerville High School in 1952. He was formerly employed by Aldinger and Wishard Milk Hauling of York Springs for many years and also drove bus for Wolf's Bus Lines of York Springs. He retired from R.F. Truesdell trucking in Biglerville after 18 years of service. He was a member of Uriah United Methodist Church and Men's Bible Class. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Joanne (Blocher) Day. He is also survived by two sons: Gary L. and wife Susan Day of Gardners and Jeffrey L. and wife Gail Day of Aspers; a granddaughter, Heidi L. Day of Alexandria, VA; and four grandsons: Justin I. Day of Aspers, Jared L. and wife Alicia Day of Biglerville, and David L. and Daniel R. Day, both of Gardners. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry E. Day who died in 1987 and one brother, John P. Day. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 27 at 11:00 AM at Uriah United Methodist Church, 925 Goodyear Road, Gardners with Reverend Jeff Canankamp officiating.Interment will be in Uriah Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
