M. Joan Albert

M. Joan Albert, age 82 of Esther Drive in Chambersburg, died Friday, July 23, 2010 at Shippensburg Healthcare. She was born Thursday, November 3, 1927 in Williamsport, PA, a daughter of the late Wilfred Arthur and Naomi Ruth (McCarty) Renner. Joan graduated fromSelinsgrove High School in 1945. She was formerly employed as a pharmacy technician by Rea Derrick in Hanover for 37 years and for four years at the Weis Pharmacy in Shippensburg. She was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Hampton. Joan was predeceased by her first husband Gerald E. Thomas in 1966 and her second husband Harry R. Albert, who died in 1993. She is survived by daughter, L. Diane Tarner, Shippensburg,her sister, Mildred Mease, Selinsgrove; two granddaughters: Emily Neville of West Newfield, ME and Hilary Tarner of Los Angeles, CAand two great-grandsons, Owen and Eli Neville of New Westfield, ME. She was also predeceased by her brother, Cloyd A. Renner. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. Reverend John Fehringer will officiate at graveside services on Saturday morning at 11:00 o'clock, August 28th at Rest Haven Cemetery (at the corner of Boundary Westminster Avenues), Hanover, PA. Memorial contributions may be made in Joan's honor to a charity of one's choosing.
