M. Marie Trostle

M. Marie Trostle, age 104 of Carlisle, formerly of Adams County, passed away April 21, 2024 at UPMC Carlisle Hospital. She was born September 14, 1919 in Latimore Township to the late Cyrus and Stella (Smith) Yohe. Marie was widowed by her husband, G. Walter Trostle in 1985.

Marie was a member of Chestnut Grove Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School and Bible School. She enjoyed sewing, baking, cooking, babysitting and crocheting. She especially enjoyed quilting, where she made over 40 quilts and gave them to her family. Marie had a very sharp mind and could answer questions from years ago. She could remember the birthdates of all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, even the most recent born. She could recognize a voice and know exactly who she was talking to.

Marie is survived by her children, Sandra Taylor and husband, Kenton of York Springs, Ronald Trostle and wife, Vicki of York Springs, Pamela Eisenhart and husband, Jeff of East Berlin and Kim Trostle of York Springs; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren. Marie is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Violet Hall, Ralph Yohe, Arthur Yohe, Janet Tuckey and two infant siblings.

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. Friends will be received from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 29, 2024 at Chestnut Grove Lutheran Church, 1136 Mountain Road, York Springs, PA 17372. Pastor Rosemary Backer-Wheeler will officiate the funeral. Marie will be laid to rest at Chestnut Grove Lutheran Cemetery.
