Manuel Santos Nieves-Santiago, Sr.

Manuel, “Nin” or “Sam” Santos Nieves-Santiago, Sr., age 86, of McSherrystown, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024 at WellSpan York Hospital in York. He was born November 1, 1937 in Naranjito, Puerto Rico, as the son of the late Encarnation Nieves, mother, Marcela Santiago and step-mother, Emerita Nieves.

Manuel worked as a Field Supervisor for Bream Orchards, Inc. in Orrtanna for over 30 years. He was a member of Eagles # 2226 in Littlestown and VFW Post #655 in McConnellsburg. In his spare time, Manuel enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.

Manuel is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Della Mae (Brown) Nieves; son, Manuel “Sam” Nieves, Jr. and his wife, Leslie; five daughters, Debbie Stoltzfus and her husband, Amos, Brenda Herr and her husband, Meredith, Kathy Mae Nieves and her fiancé, Andrew Ard, Sara Jane Reaver and her husband, Jeffrey, Jr. and Michelle Lee Maxey and her husband, Ernie Rodriguez; two step-sisters, Luz Maria Ruiz and Edna Laureano; two step-brothers, Victor and Abraham Nieves; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Manuel was preceded in death by his two brothers, Tito and Jose Nieves and step-sister, Carmen Garcia.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville, PA 17306. A Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Dugan Funeral Home, Inc. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Dugan Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Jeffrey Reaver, Sr. officiating.
