Margaret "Ella Mae" Virginia Rideout

Margaret “Ella Mae” Virginia Rideout, age 97, of Shippensburg, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 surrounded by her family at her home in Shippensburg. She was born April 15, 1928 in Chambersburg, as the daughter of the late Edward and Margaret Virginia (Holmes) Napper.

Ella Mae graduated from Chambersburg High School. She married her husband and became a wonderful homemaker to her two children. She was a member of Kingdom Hall Jehovah's Witnesses in Chambersburg. In her spare time, Ella Mae enjoyed shopping, decorating her home, flowers and collecting antiques and knick-knacks.

Ella Mae is survived by her two loving sons, Marc J. Rideout and Stephen A. Rideout, both of Shippensburg, four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ella Mae was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, John H. Rideout, Jr. and one grandchild, Marcaa' Jillea Rideout-Edrington.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, PA 17257, with Richard Vanderau officiating.
