Marie A. Heller

Marie A. Heller, age 87 of Gettysburg, died Monday, January 7, 2013 at Transitions Health Care. She was born Monday, October 5, 1925 in Menallen Township, Adams County, the daughter of the late William W. and Ida M. (Bolen) Harman. Marie was formerly employed by Carroll Shoe Co. in Arendtsville for many years and also Bear Mountain Orchards. She was a member of St James Lutheran Church in Wenksville, American Legion Post 262 Auxiliary in Biglerville and AARP. Her husband, Glenn R. Heller died in 1999. She is survived by three daughters: Alverda A. Strausbaugh of Orrtanna, Nancy M. Sneed of Gettysburg. Fay L. Heller of Gettysburg; a son, Larry G. Heller of Gardners; four grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Luther Harman and one sister, Ethel Walters. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday, January 11, at St. James Lutheran Church, 2007 Wenksville Road, Biglerville with Reverend Robert S. McEllroy III officiating. Interment will be in Wenksville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Dugan Funeral Home, 111 South Main Street, Bendersville on Thursday, January 10 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
