Martha A. Bayer

Martha A. (Cromer) Bayer, age 98, of Gettysburg, formerly of Lower Burrell, went to live with the Lord on Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Gettysburg Center. She was born on Sunday, January 28, 1912 in New Kensington, the daughter of the late Calvin L. and Ada (Hicks) Cromer. Martha graduated from New Kensington High School in 1930. Shewas a homemaker and a charter member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Lower Burrell. Her husband William H. Bayer died in 1971. She is survived by her daughter,Ruth Lenora (Faust) Cooper, Gettysburg; twosons: Wayne T. Bayer, Fountain Valley, California, James W. Bayer, Conway, Sout Carolina; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two granddaughters. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. A viewing will be held onSunday evening, November 28 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm atDugan Funeral Home in Bendersville. Funeral services will be held onTuesday, November 30 at 2:00pm in the Bethel United Methodist Church, 150 Alder Street, Lower Burrell, PA 15068 with the Reverend Paul Taylor officiating.A viewing willbe held in the church on Tuesday, November 30 from 1:00pm until time of services.Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Lower Burrell, PA.
