Martha Marlene Adams, age 85 of Shippensburg, passed away May 12, 2023 at Celebration Villa. She was born May 6, 1938 in Spring Run to the late Newton and Grace (Neil) Umbrell. Marlene was widowed by her husband, Lyle W. Adams, who passed away in 2015.
Marlene attended Fannett-Metal High School, she was of Presbyterian Faith, she and her husband loved to travel and enjoyed vacations at the shore. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Disney World with family. She was a member of the Civic Club, enjoyed building dollhouses, painting ceramics and baking for the neighbors.
She is survived by her daughters, Robin A. Baughman of Mechanicsburg, Rhonda D. VanArsdale of Shippensburg and Risa A. Bartsch and husband, Brian of Illinois; grandchildren, Thomas VanArsdale Jr., and wife, Melissa, Taylor Bartsch and wife, Olivia, Jonathan Baughman and Jenna Bartsch; great-grandchildren, Nico, Joey and Sophia; twin sister, Darlene Swanger of Mongul, sisters, Barbara Sipes of Newville and Judy Zeigler and husband, Larry of Willow Hill; brother, George Umbrell and wife, Vicki of Willow Hill and sisters-in-law, Nancy Umbrell of Fannettsburg and Maxine Umbrell of Willow Hill. Marlene was preceded in death by her sister, Violet Swank and brothers, Jack Umbrell, Jody Umbrell and Jewel Umbrell.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg where memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 23 at 1:00PM. Pastor Butch Neil will officiate services. Friends will be received from 12 noon until time of memorial service. Inurnment will follow service at Spring Hill Cemetery.
