Martha F. Murtoff, age 81 of Gardners, passed away February 28, 2026 at UPMC Carlisle Hospital. She was born April 2, 1944 in Carlisle to the late John and Romaine (Walters) Shelleman.

Martha was a former member of Bible Baptist Church in Shiremanstown and a current member of Tree of Life Church in Carlisle. She spent her life serving others with Baptist-Mid Missions to Africa and was involved in ministry at America’s Keswick in New Jersey. Martha also did a lot of volunteering at ABWE in New Cumberland and often sponsored a table at Capital City Pregnancy Center (CPAC). She enjoyed reading, sewing, needlework and thrifting. She was a faithful wife, devoted mother and doting grandmother.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Doug M. Murtoff; daughter, Ruth Brown and husband, Dave of Gardners; son, Mark Murtoff and wife, Brenda of Gardners; grandchildren, Nathaniel Brown and wife, Jodi, Monica Chilcote and husband, James, Selena Brown, Mackenzie Harclerode and husband, David and Travis Murtoff; great-grandchildren, Asher, Micah and Esme and sister, Norma Beamer and husband, Donnie Beamer of Biglerville. Martha was preceded in death by her sister, Miriam Jumper

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. Friends will be received on Monday, March 9, 2026 from 11am until time of funeral service at 1pm at Tree of Life Church, 50 K Street, Carlisle, PA 17013. Pastor Eric Mosemann will officiate the funeral. Martha will be laid to rest at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery at a later date.
