Mary Irena Hare, age 80 of Walnut Bottom, passed away November 18, 2024 at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital. She was born June 1, 1944 in Walnut Bottom to the late Samuel I. and Nora (Davidson) Martin.
Mary was a member of Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, Shippensburg American Legion Post 223 and the Cumberland Valley Corvette Club. She enjoyed cooking and sewing, but most of all, spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Charles E. Hare of Walnut Bottom; children, Donald Wyrick and wife, Janet of Dillsburg, Thomas Wyrick and companion, Bunny of Shippensburg and Nicole Hospodavis and husband, John of Ohiopyle; step-children, Wendy Rollyson and husband, Kelly of Chambersburg, Bradley Hare and wife, Tracey of Orrstown and Rene Shumaker and husband, Brian of Gardners; 11 grandchildren;15 great-grandchildren and siblings, Norma Keefer and husband, Glenn of Shippensburg, Richard Martin and wife, Linda of Newville and Melissa Burch and husband, Kenneth of Garden City, MO. Mary was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathy Nezat; brother, William Martin and sister, Susan Piper.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg where friends will be received on Tuesday, November 26, 2024 from 6:00 - 8:00PM. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at 11:00AM at Our Lady of the Visitation Catholic Church, 305 N. Prince Street, Shippensburg. Fr. Ben Dunkleberger will officiate the Mass. Mary will be laid to rest at Corpus Christi Cemetery, Chambersburg.
