Mary Lou Eckert

Mary Lou Eckert, age 83, of Carlisle formerly of Biglerville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 11, 2025, surrounded by family at Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Carlisle. She was born July 5, 1941 in Gettysburg, PA, as the daughter of the late Fred Finfrock, Sr. and E. Maybelle (Kroushour) Finfrock.

Mary Lou graduated in the Class of 1959 from Biglerville High School. She worked in the cafeteria at the Biglerville Elementary School, Ondek’s Insurance Company and retired from the scales office at Knouse Foods in Peach Glen. In her spare time, Mary Lou enjoyed reading, music, dancing, antiquing, shopping, BINGO, and most of all, spending time with her family.

Mary Lou is survived by her loving children, Todd Eckert of Dillsburg and his children, Joel, Erin and Jared; Tracy Thomas (Donnie) of Gardners and their children, Devin and Tyler; and lastly, Thad Eckert (Becky) of Orrtanna and their child, Madison; five great-grandchildren; brother, George “Fred” Finfrock, Jr. (Sandy); sisters-in-law, Jean Finfrock and Carol Clapsaddle (Barry) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Mary Lou was preceded in death by her son, Troy Eckert and her brother, Willis “Bill” Finfrock.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 1:30 PM at Bethel Mennonite Church, 2335 Biglerville Rd, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
