Mary Louise Swope

Mary Louise Swope, age 93, of Shippensburg, passed away Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Sarah Todd Nursing Home. She was born Monday, May 26, 1930 in Altoona, the daughter of the late Roy Beckenbaugh and Mary Hooper Beckenbaugh.

Louise formerly worked for Beistle Company for several years. She attended the Shippensburg First Church of God and participated in the Ever Ready Berean Sunday School class. She was also a member of the Shippensburg Golden Age Club.

Her husband of 50 years, Myles R. Swope passed away in 1999. She is survived by her son, Jerry L. and wife Wilma Swope of Shippensburg; two daughters, Kimberly A. and husband Brad Sloop of Marysville, Tina R. and husband Tom Schuj of Arlington, TN; three grandchildren, Bradley Derek and wife Melissa Sloop of Marysville, Elizabeth Schuj and Rachel Schuj of Arlington, TN; sister-in-law, Zella Edwards of Chambersburg; several nieces and nephews and friend, Cathy Eiswert of Shippensburg, whom she loved as a daughter. She was preceded in death by her sister Leda Gilbert.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, May 28, at Shippensburg First Church of God, 121 East King Street, Shippensburg, with Reverend Gary Hornbaker officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church from 1:00 PM until time of services
