Mary Jane Wenk, age 89 of Aspers, passed away Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at her home. She was born Saturday, February 28, 1925 in Menallen Township, Adams County, the daughter of the late Guy G. and Eva E. (Showers) McBeth. Mary Jane graduated from Arendtsville Vocational High School in 1942. She, along with husband Donald, owned and operated Three Springs Farm from 1960 - 1987. She was a member of Wenksville United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, was treasurer for the Women's Society and taught Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Bendersville Fire Company Auxiliary, Farm Bureau Advisory Council and PA Farm Bureau and served as an auditor for Menallen Township for many years. She started at Knouse Food, Peach Glen in 1943 and worked there for many years. She had also worked at Mt. Orchard Co-Op and Donald Weaner's packing fruit. She attended West Shore Farmers Market with Gerald Taylor for many years and had helped her brother, Robert G. MacBeth on his fruit farm. Her husband, Donald G. Wenk passed away August 24, 1993. She is survived by two sons, David R. and wife Emily Wenk of Gardners and John M. and wife Karen Wenk of Gardners; five grandchildren, Ashley Wenk, Benjamin Wenk, Lindsay Knouse, Rachel Eck and Gregory Wenk; two great-granddaughters, Addileigh and Alana Jane Knouse, a brother Robert G. MacBeth of Biglerville. Three brothers preceded her in death, Russell, Charles and Orville McBeth. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, September 13, at the Wenksville United Methodist Church, 2010 Wenksville Road, Biglerville with Reverend Rick Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Wenksville Cemetery. A viewing will be held Friday September 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville and on Saturday at the church from 2:00 PM until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Wenksville United Methodist Church, Good Samaritan Fund, 2010 Wenksville Road, Biglerville, PA 17307.
