Maxine B. Harris

Maxine B. Harris, age 91 of Carlisle, died Sunday, February 4, 2018, at Chapel Pointe in Carlisle. She was born Friday, February 26, 1926, in Gardners the daughter of the late James W. and Louella (Young) Starner. Maxine graduated from Biglerville High School in 1943. She earned her BA in Education at Dickinson College. She was formerly employed as a school teacher in Mojave, CA. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Biglerville. Her husband, Russel D. Harris passed away in 1997. She is survived by her sister, Peggy Shugart of York County, one brother, Grayson D. Starner of New Oxford. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, February 8 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Linda Summers officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 9:30 AM until time of services.
