Nancy M. Hess

Nancy M. Hess, age 72, formerly of New Oxford, died Saturday, July 29, 2017 at Transitions Health Care in Gettysburg. She was born Thursday, January 25, 1945 in Harney, MD, the daughter of the late Walter and Sara A. (Fream) Koontz. Nancy attended Littlestown High School. She was formerly employed by Pfaltzgraff Pottery in Bendersville and York for many years. She was a former member of Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 in Biglerville and Hanover Amvets Post 22 in Hanover. She loved spending time with her family and grandchildren, reading, music and had great love for animals. Her husband, Charles Franklin Hess passed in 2004. She is survived by two daughters, Kimberly L. and husband Barry Richardson of Gardners, Barbara A. and husband Gary Hess of Hanover, one son, Joseph R.B. and wife Alta Stewart of Chambersburg, seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters, Agnes Bechtel of Gettysburg and Verna Rexroth of Littlestown. She was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin Koontz, twin brother Donald Koontz, and sisters Doris Boyd and Thelma Zeigler. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 2 at Dugan Funeral Home, with Reverend Rick Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Oaklawn Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Dugan Funeral Home from 1:00 PM until time of services.
