Naomi R. Baer, age 79 of Fayetteville, passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab. She was born Wednesday, December 19, 1934 in Newburg, the daughter of the late Benjamin N. and Naomi Grace (Tarner) Shields. Naomi was formerly employed as a cook at the Village of Laurel Run in Fayetteville. She has also worked at Big Lots and Gee Bee in Chambersburg. She was a former member of Moose Women's Auxiliary in Chambersburg. Her loyal dog, Tasha will greatly miss her. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Ephraim "Harry" H. Baer, Sr. She is also survived by four daughters, Patricia G. Beck of Carlisle, Shirley L. Rhinehart of Gardners, Betty L. Martin of Carlisle, Brenda K. Strine of Fayetteville; three sons, Richard "Dick" E. Baer of Shippensburg, Ephraim "Harry" H. Baer, Jr. of Chambersburg, Willis J. Baer of Newville; ten grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; two sisters, Pearl Shields of Carlisle and Loretta Baer of Carlisle and a brother, Frank Shields of Carlisle. She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna Martin and four brothers, Benjamin, Charles, Harold and Chester Shields. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 6:00 PM at Fayetteville Pentecostal Church of God, 5276 Treher Road, Fayetteville with Pastor Staci Geesaman officiating.
