Olive L. Weiser

Olive L. (Starry) Weiser, age 89 of York Springs, passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at her home. She was born Thursday, January 14, 1926 in Latimore Township, Adams County, the daughter of the late Norman D. and Louella (Bushey) Starry. Olive graduated from York Springs High School in 1943. She was united in marriage to M. Everett Weiser on July 10, 1943. Olive and Everett owned and operated Weiser Orchards. She was a member of Monaghan Presbyterian Church and Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in York Springs. She was a 66 year member of Gettysburg Chapter 392 Order of the Eastern Star and she served as Worthy Matron in 1965 - 1966. She was also a member of White Shrine and the York Springs Fire Co. Auxiliary. She is survived by four sons, Mark E. of Columbia MD, Conrad D. (Martha), Timothy L. (Carol) and Steven P. Weiser all of York Springs, six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, M. Everett Weiser, two sisters Arlene Starry and Kathryn Taylor and her brother Norman Dean Starry. Olive loved working in her rose garden and donated lots of roses to several organizations for table decorations. She loved reading and working crossword puzzles. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, January 5, at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 216 Main Street, York Springs with Reverend Ben Leese officiating. Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of services.
