Patricia F. Smith

Patricia FitzGerald-Smith, died peacefully at home on Friday, November 28, 2014 in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania. She was born in 1923 in England, the daughter of the late Maurice and Marie FitzGerald. Patricia served in the Second World War as a Red Cross nurse with the British Royal Navy. She completed her nurse's training in the West London Hospital in England. In 1953, she immigrated to the United States and worked at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. In 1955, she married Richard J. Smith and moved to Coldwater, Ohio, working at Our Lady of Mercy Hospital. Preceding her in death was her brother, Desmond. Survivors include her husband Richard; her daughter, Angela and husband Mark of Shippensburg; son, David and wife Karen and two grandsons, Cameron and Spencer Smith of Fayetteville, NY. Cremation services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Coldwater, Ohio on Friday, December 5 at 10:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests a donation to hospice or a charity of choice.
