Pauline Catherine Pifer, age 97 of York Springs, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at her home. She was born Wednesday, September 7, 1921 in Taneytown, MD, the daughter of the late Edgar and Ada (Bowers) Schildt. Pauline worked as a seamstress. She was a member of Marsh Creek Independent Church of the Brethren in Gettysburg. In her spare time, Pauline loved to bake, cook, garden, work on word search puzzles and spend time with her family. She will be missed by many that knew her kind and joyful spirit. She is survived by her son, Jonathan (Chery) Pifer, daughter, Shirley (Philip) Miller both of York Springs, brother, Lloyd (Geraldine) Schildt of New Oxford, seven grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Roy Pifer, four brothers, Ralph, Paul, Laverne and Daniel and one sister, Esther. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, April 15, 2019 at Mummerts Church of the Brethren, 391 Mummerts Church Road, Abbottstown, PA with Elder Harold Miller and Elder Harvey Hill officiating. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Mummerts Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
