Pearl M. (Peggy) Ditchburn, age 90 of Gettysburg, died Thursday, November 1, 2012 at her home. She was born Thursday, March 30, 1922 in Hunterstown, the daughter of the late Delbert and Irene M. (Flemming Brown. Pearl graduated from Gettysburg High School in 1941. She was employed as a bookkeeper for many years. She was a member of the Gettysburg Presbyterian Church, Conewago Chapter #532 Order of the Eastern Star, Order of Amaranth Hanover Chapter, Daughters of American Colonists and Daughters of the American Revolution and was formerly a Girl Scout Leader. Pearl's interests included fishing, archery, hunting, metal detecting, sewing and knitting. She is survived by two daughters: Margaret E. (Laney) Shaffer of Loveland, Co and Barbara L. Senier of York Springs; five grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ditchburn on June 30, 2011; her sister, Violet Gale, her brother, Arthur Brown and a great grandson, Josh Harman. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Graveside Services will be held at Evergreen Cemetery, 799 Baltimore Street, Gettysburg at 2:00 PM Monday, November 5 with Reverend Lou Nyiri officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choosing.
