Peggy E. Rinehart, age 92 of Gettysburg, formerly of Biglerville, went to be with the Lord and her loving husband, Evers and son Donald, on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Transitions Health Care in Gettysburg. She was born Tuesday, January 4, 1921 in Ashe County, NC, the daughter of the late Hamilton D. and Ruth A. (Greer) Edwards. She was salutatorian of Glade Valley High School where she graduated in 1940. She attended Berry College and left school to join in the war effort in Elkton, MD where she met the love of her life, Evers P. Rinehart who preceded her in death in 1995. She was also preceded in death by beloved son, Donald H. Rinehart in 2000, brother, Greer E. Edwards and sister Kathryn R. Smith. She was formerly employed as a cook in the cafeteria of Musselman's in Biglerville for 10 years and also the Battle Theatre Cafeteria for 21 years. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Bendersville, the Willing Workers Sunday School Class and Pennsylvania Association of Retarded Children. Peggy was a friend to everyone she met and always put the needs of others above her own. She is survived by four daughters: Patricia R. and husband Robert Junkins of Aspers, Lois K. Rinehart of Gettysburg, Lanetta R. and husband Edwin Fletcher of Lynnwood, WA, Mary E. and husband Jody Chronister of Gettysburg; two sons: David P. and wife Ginny Rinehart of Gettysburg and Michael W. and wife Annie Rinehart of Biglerville; sixteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. A visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday, August 5, at Dugan Funeral Home. A Celebration of Peggy's Life will take place Thursday, August 15 at 10:30 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 126 Church Street, Bendersville with Reverend Robert S. McEllroy III officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Arendtsville. Peggy's family wishes to thank the Staff of Transitions Healthcare for the love and support given to their mom.
