Peggy Shoemaker

Peggy L. Shoemaker, age 84 of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at Shippensburg Healthcare Center. She was born Saturday, June 16, 1928 in Chambersburg, the daughter of the late William B. and Helen F. (Carmack) Finnegan. Peggy was formerly employed by Sylvaina Electric in York and Advanced Technologies in Chambersburg. She was a former member of the ladies auxiliary of Charles Nitterhouse Post 1599 VFW in Chambersburg. She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Shoemaker to whom she was married for 54 years. She is also survived by two sons: Russell W. Brookens, Jr. of Fayetteville and Richard A. Shoemaker of Scotland; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Kidwell and Dolores Woods; her brother, William Finnegan, Jr.and great grandson, Dane Shoemaker. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 1 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Tim Wheeler and Reverend Carroll Cool officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
