Peggy L. Tarner

Peggy L. Tarner, age 76 of Chambersburg, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born Monday, July 8, 1940 in Chambersburg, the child of the late Paul B. and Nellie Virginia (Shope) Reed. Peggy graduated from Shippensburg High School in 1958. Graduate from Franklin County Career and Technology Center LPN School. She worked at Carlisle Hospital and Chambersburg Hospital before retiring from the Shook Home, Chambersburg after 23 years of employment. She was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Orrstown for over 76 years, an active member of PSS Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Franklin County Chapter, an active volunteer with her church food pantry and many other organizations. She is survived by two daughters, Melissa Nypaver and Nina Tarner, both of Chambersburg, a son, Todd Tarner of Eagle River, AK, step-daughter, Sonja Bolmont of West Bridgewater, MA, step-son, Daxel Tarner, of Burtonsville, MD, sister, Candace S. Arnold of McAllisterville, two brothers, Donald L Reed of Fayetteville, P. Ted Reed of Shippensburg, ten grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, October 15 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 3442 Orrstown Road, Orrstown with Vicar Aaron Smith and Pastor Candace Arnold officiating. A visitation will be held at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory on Friday, October 14 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 3442 Orrstown Road, Orrstown, PA 17244.
