Phillip R. Black, 69, of Aspers, passed away at Gettysburg Hospital on February 28, 2025. Born on June 18, 1955, in Gettysburg, he was the beloved son of Donald R. and Fay E. (McCauslin) Black.
Phil is preceded in death by his father. He is survived and missed by his mother, Fay; daughter, Jennifer Jenkins (Jay) of Fredericksburg, VA; two sons, Nicholas “Pickle” Black of Gettysburg and Christopher Black; two granddaughters, Olivia Jenkins and Delaney Black; and one grandson, Gage Black. In addition, Phil is also survived by a sister, Diane Myers; two brothers, Randy Black (Ellen) and Alan Black (Kim) and his former wife and friend, Peggy Black.
Phil leaves behind a legacy filled with love, devotion and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is known for his love of hunting, farming, gardening, socializing and tremendous generosity to others. He was always a person you could count on and didn't hesitate to help anyone in need. His legacy will forever live on through the countless lives he touched and the lessons he taught us. Though we mourn his loss, we also celebrate the incredible life he lived.
Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville, where a Public Viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. Funeral Services will begin at 12:00 PM and Pastor Wayne E. Galloway will officiate the service. Graveside Services will immediately follow at Wenksville Cemetery.
