Phillip L. Stoner, age 82 of Bendersville, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 at his home. He was born Wednesday, December 4, 1935 in Gettysburg, the son of the late Murray Edgar and Evelyn (Bream) Stoner. Phil graduated from Biglerville High School. He was formerly employed by Osborn Printing for many years. He had also worked at the Gettysburg Times in the print room. He was a member of Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 in Biglerville where he served as Commander, Trustee and other offices. He was also a member of the Eagles of Gettysburg. Phil enjoyed going to Penn National and Charlestown racetrack to watch horseracing. He also enjoyed vacationing in Florida. He served in the US Marine Corps during the Korean War. His wife Anna Mae (Forsythe) Stoner passed away in 2006. He is survived by two sons, Leon C. and wife Kelly Stoner of Bendersville, Douglas L. Stoner of Bendersville, two granddaughters, Senior Airman Kayla and husband Jeffrey Watson of Colorado Springs, CO, Allison Stoner of McSherrystown, grandson Brandon Stoner of Bendersville, and great-granddaughter Brylynn Ridinger of McSherrystown. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, March 22 at Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville with Reverend Gary Fanus officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday from 6:00 PM until time of services. Military Honors provided by the Adams County Allied Veterans will follow the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262, 142 4th Street, Biglerville, PA 17307.
