Phyllis Hauck Price

Phyllis Hauck Price, age 79 of Arendtsville, passed away on June 21, 2024, at Gettysburg Hospital. She was born April 20, 1945 in East Orange, NJ, the daughter of the late Doctor Rudolf and Dorothy (Day) Hauck.

She married Richard Price on June 29, 1968, and adopted their late son, Kevin Price, in 1972. Phyllis is survived by her sister, Helen English, and her brother, Robert Hauck. She also has three grandchildren, Jordan and Ashlyn Price and Addyson Kaufman.

Phyllis was an educator who taught for four years in the Hanover School District at Clearview Elementary School and in the Upper Adams School District with gifted students. She worked as a biology lab instructor at Gettysburg College from 1974-2017 and as a research technician at the Penn State Fruit Research and Extension Center before her retirement.

Phyllis enjoyed gardening, buying and selling antiques, baking, and taking care of the home for her family. Phyllis will be fondly remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother.

Professional Services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, 111 S. Main Street, Bendersville. A Visitation for family and friends on Thursday June 27, will begin at 1:00 PM at Trinity Lutheran Church, 38 N. High Street, Arendtsville. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 PM with a Committal and Burial Service immediately following at Fairview Cemetery in Arendtsville.
