Phyllis C. Woerner

Phyllis C. Woerner, age 76 of Biglerville, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at her home. She was born Tuesday, February 18, 1941 in Fairfield, daughter of the late Chester S. and Vallie S. (Adams) Cashman. Phyllis graduated from Biglerville High School in 1959. She was employed by Knouse Foods for 45 years, having worked at Peach Glen and Biglerville. She was a lifetime member of Benders Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she had served on the church council. She volunteered at SpiriTrust Lutheran and Hospice office in Gettysburg where she served as treasurer of the Gettysburg Auxiliary to SpiriTrust for ten years. She had also served on the Board of Canner Education Fund. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Paul J. Woerner. She is also survived by two sons: Robert P. and wife Tracy L. Woerner and Eric C. Woerner, both of Gettysburg, a granddaughter, Ashley Woerner of Gettysburg, two sisters, Shirley Spence of Arendtsville and Nancy Harmon of Gettysburg, and many nieces and nephews. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. A Celebration of Phyllis' life will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 11 at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 25 Franklin Street, Biglerville with Reverend Sherry Miller officiating. Interment will be in Biglerville Cemetery. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 10:00 AM until time of services.
