Rebecca Sue (Becky) Taylor, 70, of Shippensburg, PA died peacefully on March 12, 2024 at Mercy House in Chambersburg, PA surrounded by her loving family.
Becky was born Rebecca Sue Yates in Logan, Ohio on June 2, 1953 to Mary Ann (Blake) Yates. She shared her birthday with her baby brother Randy who was born on the same day in 1956. She graduated from McArthur High School in 1971, where she was voted “Most Talkative”. Becky graduated from Mount Carmel School of Nursing in 1974. Shortly after graduation she married her high school sweetheart, Michael Taylor, whom she adored from the day that they met until the day that she died.
Mike and Becky lived in Marietta, Reno, Beloit, Little Hocking and Atwater, OH before moving to Aberdeen, SD in 1987 and then settled in Shippensburg, PA. She was a member of the Shippensburg Church of the Nazarene.
Becky has been referred to as “the kindest person that I have ever known” by those closest to her. Her children have countless stories proving that she was the best Mommy ever to have lived. She was a cherished sister, a beloved wife, the best Aunt, and a trustworthy friend. But of all the titles that she has carried throughout her life, the one that was most important to her was “Nana”. Becky was, by FAR, the very best Nana that anyone could have and her granddaughters are so very thankful to have had so much time with her. She was so very proud of “her girls” and loved each of them with her whole heart. They will always argue that they were their Nana’s “favorite” grandchild.
Becky is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael, her children Christian (Kara), Emily and Sarah (Travis) and her beloved grandchildren, Alexis (Patrick), Anna, Caitlin and Sophia as well as her siblings, Michael (Roberta), Kathy, Shirley and Randy, and countless nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann Yates in 2006, and her Aunt Irene Calvin in 2016.

Funeral Services will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday, March 16, 2024 followed by a Graveside Service at Spring Hill Cemetery. A lunch will follow at the Shippensburg Church of the Nazarene at 429 E.
