Rhoda M. Carnes

Rhoda M. Carnes, age 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 13, 2016. She was born Thursday, August 20, 1925 in East Cleveland, OH, the daughter of the late Frank A. and Wanda (Dolecke) Carter. Rhoda, during her career, worked as a draftsman, nurse and a children's librarian. She had been actively involved in the Friends of Franklin County Legal Services, Chambersburg Reads, Senior Interviews at CAMS, Valentine's for Veterans and loved the Totem Pole Playhouse. She loved reading and introducing people to wonderful books, especially children. She was interested in WWII history, particularly in Rosie the Riveter. She is survived by two daughters, Wendy Carnes (husband Howard Albrecht) of Shippensburg and Becky Graywolf Carnes (husband Michael Pruitt) of Chambersburg. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Throughout her life, Rhoda received many gifts for which she was grateful and sought to pay them forward.
