Richard "Beaver" L. Ogden

Richard L. "Beaver" Ogden, age 88 of Biglerville, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Gettysburg Hospital. He was born Wednesday, September 14, 1927 in Bendersville, the son of the late Charles F. and Fairy Mae (Pepple) Ogden. Rich graduated from Biglerville High School. He was formerly employed by Knouse Foods as an apple buyer. He had also been employed by Duffy Motts, Cadbury Schweppes in Aspers for many years as an apple buyer. He was a member of Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 in Biglerville and Upper Adams Fish and Game. He served in the US Marine Corps as a sergeant during Korea. His wife, Helen "Hazel" Ogden, passed away in 2008. He is survived by one son, Michael L. Ogden of Fayetteville and one grandson, Kyle K. Kahn of Orrtanna. He was preceded in death by a grandson Eric A. Raffensberger, brother Chester Ogden and sister Romaine Decker. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, May 16 at Dugan Funeral Home, Bendersville with Reverend Susan McCarthy officiating. Interment will be in Flohrs Church Cemetery. A viewing will be held Sunday, May 15 from 3:00 to 5:00 PM at Dugan Funeral Home.
