Richard "Dick" Charles Mauss

Richard “Dick” Charles Mauss, age 94, of Biglerville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 surrounded by his family in Biglerville. He was born February 27, 1930 in Butler Township, Adams County, as the son of the late John A. and Annie Ella (Eckert) Mauss.

Dick attended Bridge School. He was a painter for 17 years at Gettysburg Lutheran Home and for 30 years prior to that for WW “Bill” Mauss Painting. In partnership with his brother, they owned a fruit farm and were members of Knouse Foods Grower’s Co-Op. Dick was a member and sang in the choir at Trinity Christian Fellowship in Biglerville and Adams County Fruit Grower’s Association. In his spare time, Dick enjoyed walking and hunting and was known as an outdoorsman.

Dick is survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Eilene (Lightner) Mauss, who passed January 21, 2018; three sisters, Isabelle Shaffer, Jean Guise and Helen Newman and six brothers, Glenn, John, William, Raymond, Robert and Dale Mauss.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville with Pastor John Weber officiating. A Public Viewing will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of services. A Procession will follow services to Benders Union Cemetery.
