Richard E. Heller, age 88 of Aspers, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Gettysburg Hospital. He was born Thursday, December 1, 1927 in Tyrone Township, Adams County, the son of the late Melvin and Phoebe (Wierman) Heller. Richard graduated from Biglerville High School. He was formerly employed by Cadbury Beverages (previously the Duffy Mott Company) for 30+ years. He was a member of Ira E. Lady Post 262 American Legion in Biglerville. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. His wife Elva M. (Pickett) Heller passed away in 1987. He is survived by four daughters, Betty J. and husband Donald Forsythe of Gettysburg, Joan A. (Cindy) and husband Vernon Robertson of Taneytown, MD, Martha L.Reiker and companion David Junkins of New Oxford, Paula and husband Jeff Thompson of Calumet City, IL, 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren, and brother Emory J. Heller of Aspers. He was preceded in death by great-grandson Steven E. Hoffman, sister Hazel Spangler and brothers Robert and Eugene Heller. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, January 18 at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Stuart Johns officiating. Interment will be in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 9:00 AM until time of services.
