Richard Hyde Sullivan, age 99, of Aspers died Friday, February 17, 2012 at his home. He was born Wednesday, October 9, 1912 in York, the son of the late Homer D. and Carrie M. (Lefever) Sullivan. Richard came to Adams County in 1928 and worked as a farmer on his own farm. He butchered cows and pigs and he grew fruits and vegetables to sell to his customers in Carlisle. He was married to Florence R. Fogle for 67 years before her passing in February 2001. He is survived by five daughters: Margaret Sullivan, Shirley Daron, Violet Karper, Diane Enyeart and Sharon Weidner, all of Aspers; two sons: Richard N. Sullivan and Robert Sullivan, both of Aspers; twelve grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, a nephew, Michael Sullivan of York and a niece Lois Shaffer of Ohio. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeremiah Sullivan, a sister, Margaret Keister, a nephew, Jeremiah Sullivan, Jr and his niece, Barbara Merck. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, February 22 at Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., Bendersville with the Reverend Dale Bupp officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, February 21 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Lutheran Home Care Hospice, 260 West High Sreet, Gettysburg, PA 17325.
