Richard M. Orndorff

Richard M. (Dick) Orndorff,age 73 of Shippensburg, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at his home with his family by his side. He was born Sunday, May 12, 1940 in Shippensburg, the son of Cora Jane Adams of Shippensburg and the late Marshall Maynard Orndorff. Richard was formerly employed by Capital Bakers in Chambersburg for 22 years and Fry Communications in Mechanicsburg for 33 years. He was a member of the Hub City Club of Shippensburg, Moose of Chambersburg and the American Legion of Shippensburg. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Joanne (Guyer) Orndorff. He is also survived by fourdaughters: Kathy J. and husband Carl Strayer of Shippensburg, Teresa J. and husband Michael Barnhart of Walnut Bottom, Peggy D. and husband David Shives of Orrstown, Dixie J. and husband Raymond Bream of Shippensburg; three sisters: Peggy Mozingo of Hershey, Wanda Hanna of Shippensburg and Bonnie Provost of New Ibernia, LA; 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren . Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg.Funeral services to celebrate Dick's life will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 3 at Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend David Erisman officiating. Interment will be in Cleversburg Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Friday, August 2 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.
