Richard J. Mumper

Richard J. Mumper, age 66 of Carlisle, passed away Friday, April 3, 2015 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born Friday, August 6, 1948 in Carlisle, PA, the child of the late Marlin L. and Ruth A. (Carper) Mumper. Richard graduated from Carlisle High School. He was employed by Marlin Mumper Sandblasting, All American Truck Stop Group and Cumberland County Transportation. He was a former Fire Chief for Goodwill Fire Company in Carlisle and a former member of the Elks Lodge of Carlisle. He was a current member of the Carlisle Eagles Aerie 1299 and Camp Phoenix View Hunting Camp in Tioga County PA. He proudly served in the US Navy. He is survived by his sister, Frances "Cookie" Deluca of Carlisle, step-children, Ric (Faye) LeBlanc of Boiling Springs, PA, Alan LeBlanc of Mt. Vernon, KY, Rosemary LeBlanc of New Bedford, MA, John (Wendy) LeBlanc of Huntsdale, PA., Patrick (Kim) LeBlanc of Carlisle, several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara LeBlanc Mumper who passed in 2007, his brothers, Marlin F. Mumper and Dennis H. Mumper and two step-daughters, Carol LeBlanc and Janice LeBlanc. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, PA. A celebration gathering will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Carlisle Evangelical Free Church, 290 Petersburg Road, Carlisle. Family will receive visitors from 1:00 - 3:00 PM with a short service starting at 1:30 PM. Please use the back entrance to the church. The family requests no flowers.
