Richard Dean Raffensperger

Richard “Rick” Dean Raffensperger, 68, of Biglerville, Pennsylvania, who departed this life on October 1, 2025 at Paramount Senior Living. Born on August 10, 1957, in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, Richard lived a life filled with dedication, love, and an unwavering spirit for the great outdoors. He was the son of the late Emory Raffensperger and Vivian (Ruth) Raffensperger. 

Rick was known as a hardworking machine operator in the elevator industry. He is survived by one son, Ben Raffensperger of Biglerville; one daughter, Becky McLaughlin of New River Arizona. In addition to his children, Richard is survived by one sister, Robin Stoops of St. Thomas; and one brother, Ronald Raffensperger. 

An avid outdoorsman, Rick cherished the time spent hunting and engaging with nature with his outdoor buddies. His passion for the outdoors shaped many happy memories shared with family and friends throughout the years. Rick also enjoyed spending time with his family. 

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd. A memorial service will be held on October 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Gettysburg Foursquare Church, 328 West Middle Street, Gettysburg, with Pastor Mark Chester officiating. A visitation of family and friends will be held an hour prior to the service. A private burial will take place at a later date. 

The family welcomes donations made in Richard's name to the Buchanan Valley Volunteer Fire Company, 1180 Buchanan Valley Road, Orrtanna, PA 17353.
