Richard L. Whippo

Richard L. “Whip” Whippo, age 56 of Wrightsville, passed away December 29, 2021 at UPMC Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg. He was born June 15, 1965 in Washington, PA, the son of Paul Whippo and Gloria (Lambert) Whippo. Richard was a 1984 graduate of Hickory High School, driver for Republic Services, attended Ebenezer Baptist Church in Wrightsville and loved his motorcycle, camping, trains, planes and helicopters. If he wasn’t at work, he was somewhere in nature. Richard is survived by his parents of Hermitage, PA; wife of 4 ½ years, Crystal N. (Renoll) Whippo of Wrightsville, step-children, Catarina Brigham and Clyde Brigham II of Wrightsville; sister, Carol McCurry and husband, Kevin of Sharpsville, PA; brother, George Whippo and wife, Kelly of Girard, OH; many nieces and nephews and great-nephews and lifetime friend, Greg Benic. Also survived by mother-in-law, Faith Renoll of Aspers; sister-in-law, Christine “Tina” Smith of New Oxford, brothers-in-law Clayton Renoll and wife, Sharon of New Oxford and Craig Renoll and wife, Lindsay of Dover, PA and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Clark E. Renoll. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 S. Main Street Bendersville. At Richard’s request, there will be no viewing. A visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time of memorial service at 12:00 PM at Ebenezer Baptist Church, 2100 Fishing Creek Road, Wrightsville, PA on January 22, 2022. There will also be a Celebration of Life at the Alert Fire Company, 3118 N. George St, Emigsville, PA 17318 from 2:00 PM until 6:00 PM.
