Richard L. Wise, Jr.

Richard L. Wise, Jr., age 62 of Shippensburg, formerly of Williamsport, passed away June 9, 2023 at York Hospital. He was born July 14, 1960 in Williamsport to the late Richard L. Wise, Sr. and Diane M. (Baumgartner) Engel.

Richard was a graduate of Williamsport High School and also studied in Berkley, CA.  He was a roofer for Walt Bryan Roofing and Weather Control. He was of the Christian faith, loved building model cars and going to car shows. Richard was very good with his hands and could figure out how to fix anything. He was a self-taught engineer and was fascinated with forging knives. Richard was also fascinated by the unknown, such as space and aliens.

He is survived by his lifelong partner, Tessica Banks-Harp; children, Richard W. Smith and wife, Kelly; Tamara Beer and Aaron Wise and wife, Heather; grandchildren, Mariah; Samantha; Caitlyn; Jasmine; Jesse; Jacob and Aria; step-grandchildren, Jayden; Jaxon; Elisa and Maya and sisters, Crystal Wise; Janelle Wise and Dorothy Gearhart. He was preceded in death by his brother, Perry Wise and sister, Rose Wise. “Anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. The old life is gone; a new life begins.” 2 Cor. 5-17

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg.  At the request of the family, services will be private.
