Robert B. Parr, Sr.

Robert B Parr, Sr., age 78, of Shippensburg, died Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Menno Haven in Chambersburg. He was born July 27, 1931 in Hanover, the son of Ethel Parr of Shippensburg and the late Burnell Parr. He graduated from Shippensburg High School in 1950 and was employed by Caterpillar in York for 25 years. He was a member of the United Auto Workers, Good Time Dance Club in Shippensburg, S.A.F.E Aeromodelers, lifetime member of the VFW in Chambersburg and the American Legion in Shippensburg. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and a certified taxidermist. He also refurbished and repaired foreign sports cars. He is also survived by his wife: Peggy A. (Hippensteel) Parr to whom he was married for 58 years, a daughter, Debra A. Kyle of Dillsburg, a son, Robert B. Parr, Jr. and wife Dixie L., of Shippensburg; two sisters: Joan Solick of Spring City, PA and Bonnie Zinn of Scotland; five grandchildren: Aaron S. and Sean P. Kyle, Zachary T. Parr, Kira L. and Lacy L. Cramer and ten great-grandchildren. Arrangements are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, PA where the family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, Saturday, February 20, 2010. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday February 20, 2010 with Jack D. Wyrick, brother in law, officiating. Interment will be in Spring Hill Cemetery at a later date.
