Robert Raymond Bollinger

Robert “Bob” Raymond Bollinger, Jr., age 74, of Shippensburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 surrounded by his loving family at his home in Shippensburg. He was born March 8, 1950 in Harrisburg, as the son of the late Robert Raymond Bollinger, Sr. and Lawanna Becky (Hammers) King.

Robert graduated in the Class of 1969 from Harrisburg High School. Robert proudly served in the U.S. Army and served during the Vietnam War as a Ranger. When he got back from Vietnam, he worked for the National Guard until January of 1991 and still enjoyed jumping out of airplanes. In 1999, he retired from the Navy Depot in Mechanicsburg after providing 20 years of service as a Program Manager. Robert was a member of the American Legion Post 143-W.H. Nauss of New Cumberland. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed watching TV and attending flea markets with his daughters. Bob will be remembered and missed by all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 26 years, Mary (Cline) Bollinger of Shippensburg; three daughters, Teresea A. Kardisco and her husband, Jason of Jim Thorpe, PA, Jennifer L. Lavely of Shippensburg and Amy L. Schwarz and her husband, Patrick of Carlisle; seven grandchildren, Cory Specht (Tiffany), Sierra Leonhard, Darren Specht, Jaylene Leonhard, Brandon Schwarz, Kaylee Schwarz and Mackenzie Schwarz; great-grandson, Charles Specht; sister, Gloria Weaver and her husband, Ray of York Haven and brother, Tim and his wife, Jenn of Millersburg. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his daughter, Diedre Leonhard.
