Robert E. Stegner

Robert E. (Pete) Stegner, age 83 of Middletown, MD, formerly of Enola, PA and Bismarck, AR, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 3, 2012 at his home. He was born Wednesday, August 21, 1929 in Bowmansdale, the son of the late Milton and Catharine May (Gruver) Heffner . Robert graduated from Duncannon High School. He was formerly employed by MS Distributing in Harrisburg for many years. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Enola and Bismarck United Methodist Church in Bismarck Arkansas. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Heis survived by his wife of 57 years, Janet L. (Rex) Stegner. He is also survived by three daughters: Brenda L. and husband Warren Renander of Webster, TX, Lisa and husband Chris Miller of Middletown, MD, Kristen L. Gonzales of Middletown MD; thirteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren; a brother, Kenneth L. Heffner of Duncannon and a sister, Frances L. Campbell of Duncannon. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard L. Stegner. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 8 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, 1299 Gablers Road, Gardners with Reverend Anjel Scarborough officiating. Interment will be in Bendersville Cemetery. A viewing will be held at Dugan Funeral Home on Friday, December 7 from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A viewing will also be held at the church on Saturday, December 8 from 10:00 AM until time of services.
