Robert Sylvester Funt, Sr.

Robert S. Funt, Sr., a resident of the Brethren Home in New Oxford, PA departed for Heaven on February 19, 2026 at the age of 97. After graduating from Biglerville High School in the class of 1946, he learned the mason trade and worked for Heiges Masonry of Gettysburg.

He was the only child of John and Jessie (Kennedy) Funt. He was predeceased by his parents and his wife, Doris; an infant son, Michael; and a great grandson, Gage. He is survived by his son Robert Funt, Jr. and wife Cynthia of Biglerville and his daughter, Pamela Applewhite and husband, Mark also of Biglerville and four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral & Cremation, Ltd., 111 S. Main Street in Bendersville. Interment will be in Greenmount Cemetery, Arendtsville, PA on Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Ron Parr officiating.
