Robert K. "Bob" Mauss, age 77 of Biglerville, went to be with his Lord Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at his home with his wife and son by his side. He was born Sunday, September 22, 1935 in Butler Township the son of the late John A. and Annie Ella (Eckert) Mauss. Bob graduated from Biglerville High School in 1954 where he still holds a record for javelin toss. He served in the US Army and was employed as a rural milkman with Penn Dairies in 1960's, Wolf's Supply and APM. He retired from Duffy Motts where he worked in inventory control. After retirement he delivered parts for NAPA until January of this year. Robert, along with his brother, Dick operated a fruit farm in the Huntsdale area for about 25 years. Bob enjoyed reading Louis L'Amour, going to the horse races and especially spending time with the lights of his life, granddaughters, Isabel and Grace. Bob was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church in Gardners. He is survived by his wife of nearly 52 years, Nancy C. (Cline) Mauss and his son, Dr. Robert L. and wife, Dr. Catherine Mauss of Biglerville. In addition, he is survived by a brother, Richard Mauss of Biglerville as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters: Isabelle Shafer, Jean Guise and Helen Newman, and four brothers: Glenn Mauss, John Mauss, William Mauss and Raymond Mauss. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM on Monday, August 19 with Reverend Susan McCarthy officiating at Dugan Funeral Home. A viewing will be held at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Sunday, August 18. Interment will be in Benders Church Cemetery, Biglerville.
