Robert G. MacBeth, age 91 of Biglerville, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024 at Gettysburg Hospital. He was born Wednesday, January 18, 1933, in Menallen Twp. Adams Co., the son of the late Guy G. and Eva L. (Showers) MacBeth.


Bobby attended Arendtsville Vocational High School. Bobby was formerly employed by Rodney Taylor as a truck driver and farmhand while he was also farming his parents’ farm. He later took over his parents’ farm, which he farmed as Robert MacBeth and Son until 2004. In addition, he hauled product for C.H. Musselman Co. He was a member of Wenksville United Methodist Church, a Life Member of both Arendtsville Fire Company and Bendersville Fire Company, where he had served as president, and a Life Member of South Mountain Antique Engine Association. He was also a member the Adams County Fruit Growers, and Adams County Farm Bureau. Bobby enjoyed farming, hunting, showing his antique hit-and-miss engine and antique washing machine. Bobby always enjoyed spending time with his German Shepherds and listening to country music.


His wife of 51 years, Betty A. (McDannell) MacBeth, passed away in 2003. He is survived by his son, Donald R. and wife Diane MacBeth, grandsons Christopher R. MacBeth and companion Missy Bowling, and Curtis D. and wife Crystal MacBeth, great-grandson Tyler C. Macbeth and his long-time companion Dianne M. Barrick, all of Biglerville. He was preceded in death by brothers Russell, Charles, and Orville McBeth. and his sister Mary Jane Wenk.


Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 25, at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Brosius officiating. Interment will be in Wenksville Cemetery. A viewing will be held Wednesday, January 24, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
