Robert L. Meeder

Robert, “Bob”, Laverne Meeder, age 98, of Gettysburg, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at Gettysburg Center. He was born November 9, 1923 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Henry and Charlotte (Brenner) Meeder. Robert graduated Norwood High School in Norwood, PA. After high school, Bob served on a Liberty Ship in the US Navy during World War II. He went on to work as a mechanic for over 30 years for Musselmans in Adams County. Robert is survived by two sons, Ralph Meeder of Gettysburg and Robert William Meeder of Chambersburg, two daughters, Loretta DiRocco of Chester County and Kathy Pitzer of Biglerville, sister, Doris Warren, four grandchildren; Hawley, Angela, Nick, and Nate, eight great-grandchildren; Bailey, Jamey, Carley, James, Adriana, Drew, Milli, and Lauren and two great-great-grandchildren, Riley and Julian. He loved being with his family. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, who passed December 31, 1999, Theresa (Ritchie) Meeder and by eight siblings. Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main Street, Bendersville. Memorial Services are at the discretion of the family.
