Robert J. Parks, age 81 of Doylesburg, passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Falling Spring Nursing and Rehab in Chambersburg. He was born Thursday, March 26, 1936 in Mapleton Depot, the child of the late Chester C. and Florence A. (Miller) Parks. He was a graduate of Saltillo High School. He retired from PennDot as a truck driver. He was a volunteer Fire Policeman for over 30 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt, work in his garden and was very fond of watching Major League Baseball and reading. As a man of dedicated faith, he was a member of Shady Pine Mennonite Church since 1978 serving as a Sunday school teacher and an usher. Robert was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary (Neuder) Parks, children, Douglas J. (Vicki) Parks of Alberta, Canada, Sharyll (Richard) Hockenberry of Willow Hill, Manuel C. (Chastity) Parks of Fayetteville, Jennifer (Mike) Hardsock of St. Thomas, Robert Scott (Kristy) Parks of Shippensburg, grandchildren, Thomas Parks, Lacey Golby-Larson, William Golby-Larson, Katelynn Golby-Larson, Marissa Flood, Lakyn Arthur, Jhonathon Parks, Frances Parks, Franklin Parks, Lexus Swan, Raven Parks, Cole Becerra, Cade Becerra, Dimitria Kalathas, David Helm, Denielle Helm and Michael Hardsock, great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Michael, Serenity, Payton, Alexandra, Adriana, Bexley and Lindy. He is also survived by his brother Jesse Park and sister Peggy Waite. He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Deanna Helm, daughter-in-law, Kim Parks, siblings, Paul, Mary, Beatrice, Betty, Edwin, Maurice, Helen and identical twin, William. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, December 26 at Shady Pine Mennonite Church, 14620 Shady Pine Road, Willow Hill with Pastors Marlon Neil and Samuel Sollenberger officiating. A viewing will be held from 11:00 AM until time of services. Interment will be in Parklawns Memorial Gardens.
