Peter Zucconi

Robert Peter Zucconi, age 71, of Orrstown, PA passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Chambersburg Hospital. He was born March 6, 1951 in Ossining, NY, the son of the late Joseph John and Ida Frances (Odorico) Zucconi.

Peter graduated from Ossining High School. He attended Eisenhower College in Seneca Falls, NY, then graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Mennonite College in Harrisonburg, VA. He went on to obtain his Master’s degree from Shippensburg University. He taught at Greenwood Mennonite School in Greenwood, DE where he met his wife, Mary Ann. He retired in 2014 after teaching for 36 years at Shalom Christian Academy in Chambersburg, PA. He was a member of Chambersburg Mennonite Church. Peter was a lifelong learner and delighted in exploring the surrounding countryside and reading of its mysteries.

Peter is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Mary Ann (Landis) Zucconi of Orrstown; daughter, Beth Elinda Bennett and her husband, David Bennett III of Wrightsville, PA; four siblings, Margaret “Peggy” Neiberger of Winchester, VA, Paul Zucconi and his wife, Linda of Plano, TX, Joseph Zucconi of Reston, VA and John and his wife, Susan of Harrisonburg, VA; three grandchildren, David IV, Angelina and Miriam Bennett and extended family members.

Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Shippensburg, PA. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at Chambersburg Mennonite Church, 1800 Philadelphia Ave, Chambersburg, PA 17201. A viewing will be held from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, January 11 and from 9-10 AM on Thursday, January 12 at the church prior to services. Interment will be in Chambersburg Mennonite Church Cemetery.
