Rodney L. Weigle, age 79 of Gettysburg, died Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at his home. He was born Friday, December 1, 1933 in Butler Township, Adams County, the son of the late Franklin L. and Ethel M. (Crist) Weigle. Rodney graduated from Biglerville High School in 1952. He was formerly employed by Ag-Com in Gettysburg for at least 25 years.He was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Heidlersburg, Moose of Gettysburg, BP O Elks in Gettysburg, Adams Co. Fish and Game and Heidlersburg Fire Company. Rodney was an avid bowler and hunter. He also enjoyed going to auctions in his spare time. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Lois A. (Schoffstall) Weigle. He is also survived by two daughters: Denise A. Weimer and companion Mark (Hammer) Hammersla of New Oxford, Rhonda S. and husband Joe Thomas of New Oxford; three sons: Joseph A. and wife Sharon Weigle of Gettysburg, Keith D. and wife Wendi Weigle of Gettysburg, adopted son Fred E. and wife Sherry Schoffstall of Salida, CO; one brother, Edward L. Weigle of Gettysburg; 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Franklin L. Weigle, Jr. and one sister, Sherry Y. Weigle. Professional services are being handled by Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville. Memorial services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, August 2at Dugan Funeral Home, with Reverend Kenneth Swick officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to H.A.R.T. Center,P.O. Box 397,New Oxford, PA 17350.
