Romaine L. Jones

Romaine L. Jones, age 84, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at Chambersburg Hospital. She was born on March 18, 1940 in Shippensburg, PA. She was the daughter of Wilbur A. Myers and Helen C. Holtry.

Romaine attended Shippensburg High School, graduating with the Class of 1958. She worked as a secretary for the heating and oil business before her retirement and was a member of the Messiah United Methodist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, gardening, sitting on her swing and dancing to the oldies. She will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Romaine is survived by her daughter, Janene Jones of Shippensburg, her sons Jeffrey Jones of Newburg and Jason Jones and his wife, Michelle of Swisher, IA; daughter-in-law Diann Jones of Chambersburg, sister Judith Stine of Shippensburg, brother Gerald Myers of Shippensburg, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John W. Jones, son John Kibler Jones and seven siblings, Delores Ocker, June Zinn, Wilbur E. Myers, Twyla Lynch, Roy Myers, Esther Parson and Connie Myers.

Professional Services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg, PA. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, April 22, 2024 at 10:00 AM at Parklawns Funeral Home Chapel, 3218 Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA 17201. Interment will immediately follow the services. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Romaine’s memory to the Southampton Township Cumberland County Parks & Recreation department.
