Ronald Eugene Unger, Jr.

Ronald Eugene Unger, Jr., age 62 of Shippensburg, passed away January 14, 2024 at Martinsburg VA Medical Center. He was born August 23, 1961 in Chambersburg to Ronald Eugene, Sr. and Vonnie (Robinson) Unger.

Ron was retired from the US Air Force and was a self-employed mechanic and truck driver. He attended Grand Point Church in Chambersburg and was a member of the American Legion Post 223 in Shippensburg. He enjoyed motorcycles and drag racing.

He is survived by his parents of Orrstown; wife of 42 years, Angela (Bittinger) Unger of Shippensburg; daughter, Shanan Nicholson and husband, Ryan of Shippensburg; grandchildren, Chasity Bluett of Mechanicsburg and Audrey and Lucas Nicholson of Shippensburg and sister, Wendy Orner of Shippensburg. Ronald was preceded in death by his son, Christopher Unger.

Professional services have been entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 51 Asper Drive, Shippensburg. At Ronald’s request, there will be no viewing. Friends are invited to a graveside funeral service on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Spring Hill Cemetery at 1:00pm. Military honors will be provided by the American Legion Post 223 ritual team.
